The broad bottom determines the profiles strength and functions as a scoop when folding the screen cloth into a package. Because screen cloths initially shrink a little, new cloths are laid slightly loose. Because of this the cloth will hang loose in the beginning, temporarily making a larger screen package than can be stored in the scoop. In addition, they also improve the installations flexibility because they constantly move with the polyester wires lateral movement. Last but not least, the blocks ensure that no further contact is possible between the polyester wires and the screen profile so installations run more smoothly, cutting-in is prevented and the screen cloth doesnt get black stripes on it.
